JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is responsible for the total management of the projects assigned to him/her across the electrical division. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning, budgeting, scheduling, negotiating, customer interaction and internal reporting and coordination.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Developing project scopes and objectives.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Manage project submittal, RFI, and change order process.
- Negotiate change orders with the client.
- Manage the flow of material to the jobsite, ensuring timely receipt for efficient project construction with minimal impact to project cashflow.
- Manage vendors and sub contractors.
- Provide concise project reporting and accountability.
- Provide quarterly job projections utilizing cost analysis techniques.
- Ensure timely monthly billing including negotiation of percentage complete utilizing progress measuring techniques.
- Management and oversight of M/W/DBE requirements.
- Assist in the creation of Job Hazard Analyses and other Safety documentation.
- Development of shop drawings with the assistance of the Engineering/CAD team.
- Discuss and work to resolve all daily issues with the Foreman as they arise, but also elevate such issues to the Project Supervisor and Superintendent as appropriate.
- Maintain professional, cooperative relationships with subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, engineers, architects and clients.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering (Electrical) or an appropriate technical discipline or commensurate industry experience.
- Experience working in public works contracts, for agencies such as: PA, MTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, DDC, DEP.
- 5 years of construction project management experience in an electrical contracting environment.
- Must be well organized, a good communicator and able to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in Document Control and Project Scheduling Software as well as strong experience in Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Procore, Vista, Primavera P6, AutoCad and Microstation a plus.
